Privacy Policy
In short: sorting and exporting happen entirely in your browser. The only things that reach our servers are your account details, your subscription status, and the audio of reels you choose to transcribe. We never sell your data.
1. Who we are
Sortcut is run by Current Culture. This policy explains what we collect through sortcut.co and the Sortcut Chrome extension, and why. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and profile picture from Google sign-in.
- Subscription details: your plan, billing dates, payment status and the Razorpay transaction reference. We never receive card numbers, UPI PINs or bank logins.
- Transcription usage: the link of each reel you transcribe, its audio (processed, not kept), the time, and your monthly count.
- Support messages you send us.
3. What we don't collect
The profiles you view, the posts you sort and the files you export stay in your browser and are never sent to us. We don't collect your Instagram password or browsing history, and the extension has no analytics or ad trackers.
4. How we use it
- To sign you in and provide the features you pay for.
- To process payments and apply the monthly transcription limit.
- To email you about billing, renewals and important changes.
- To answer support requests and prevent abuse.
5. Who we share it with
- Razorpay, to process payments.
- Groq, which turns reel audio into text for us. Audio is sent only when you click Transcribe.
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts our servers.
- Google, for sign-in.
- Government authorities, when the law requires it.
We don't sell or rent personal data.
6. How long we keep it
Reel audio is deleted as soon as the transcript is ready. Account and billing records are kept while your account is active, and for up to 8 years afterwards where tax law requires it. Everything else is deleted within 90 days of closing your account.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing support@sortcut.co. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Only the people who need access to run the Service have it.
9. Children
Sortcut isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll email account holders before the change takes effect.
